One Funnel Away Challenge Review
Is this The Best Way to
MASTER TRAFFIC
AND FUNNELS?

Creating a remarkable service or product is one thing – reaping its full benefits is quite another. Regardless of how ‘game-changing’ your product is, it can’t sell itself! | funnel

As a business owner, you must find the best way to reach your target customers and actually achieve your objectives, which mainly revolve around making sales. You must generate traffic, explain the problem-solving value of your products, guide leads towards conversion, reverse risk, and effectively address any challenges that arise. But how? Two words: sales funnels!

Building and maintaining a sales funnel is a delicate process that—if done right—could propel your business to greater heights. But as you’ll soon find out, creating an effective sales funnel is easier said than done. Which is where sales funnel courses come in. More specifically, the much-hyped One Funnel Away Challenge.

In a nutshell, the One Funnel Away Challenge is a course affiliated to ClickFunnels—a funnel building software co-founded by Russell Brunson (aka. the funnel guy). As implied in its moniker, the training course is based on the relatively audacious claim that you’re one funnel away from the business success you crave.

How true is this claim? Is your business really one funnel away from taking off? To get answers to these questions and more, I delved deep into the abyss to uncover everything there is to know about the course—including what it teaches, the costs, the problems it solves, the pros & cons, testimonials, and everything in between. Read on for the unbiased One Funnel Away review.

First thing first, what is a sales funnel? And why do you even need it?

In its simplest form, a sales funnel is the step-by-step process of guiding your leads, prospects, and customers towards your offer (service or product). Each step you take brings your target audience closer to buying or subscribing to your offer. Traffic gets in – buying customers come out the other end.

If well-structured, a sales funnel is like holding the hands of your prospects and gradually walking them through your business establishment—all the way to the checkout counter. In fact, there’s a good chance that you’re already in someone’s sales funnel. Yes, that right! The cuppa tea/coffee you bought in the morning, the grocery store errand you just ran, the items in your Amazon cart—these are all sales funnels in action.

The term “sales funnel” is derived from…you guessed it…the shape of an actual funnel. It’s wider at the top as traffic from your marketing campaigns flows in by the numbers. But the number of leads shrinks as you go further down—leaving you with the most qualified customers. You create awareness, build interest, provoke a decision, and sell.

Benefits of Building a Sales Funnel

Here’s what your business can gain from a well-designed sales funnel.

Build Trust with Prospects:

According to the 2019 Edelman Trust Barometer, building consumer trusts more than doubles the sales of a product—and the buyers are 2x more likely to stay loyal. A sales funnel provides room for you to win over your customers and earn their trust through features such as automated email series.

Increase Lifetime Value:

Sure, you’ve made a sale—but what now? Do you move on to the next customer or do you work to retain existing ones? Industry statistics point to the latter. Loyal returning customers are 4 times more likely to refer your business and 7 times more willing to try out a new product/offer. As you advance down the sales funnel, you tend to focus on retaining buyers and offering upsells—allowing you to increase the lifetime value of your customers.

Consistent Revenue and Profits:

Why do we use physical funnels in the first place? To avoid messy situations and facilitate a consistent flow of fluid, right? The same idea applies to business sales funnel—they bring sanity and order to your lead capturing and revenue-generating efforts.

Time to Focus on Other Business Activities:

If well-designed and structured, a sales funnel facilitates an automated process. Measures are put in place to pull traffic, nurture leads, and make sales. This allows you to divert your attention to other activities that help grow your business.

These are just a few of the benefits you can enjoy from building and leveraging a sales funnel. I could blab on and on about why your business needs a sales funnel but I’d be deviating from the main purpose of the article – i.e., providing an unbiased review of the One Funnel Away Challenge.

Best Sales Funnel Training Courses

Sales funnels are great! That’s a fact that should be set in stone by now. But how do you go about building one?

Unless you have an understanding of how the gears fit, the concepts of a sales funnel can be complicated. It typically involves several features, concepts, and customization options that can be overwhelming to a beginner. Not to mention the possibility that a poorly-designed funnel could do more harm than good.

Luckily, there are tons of courses to help you make the most of sales funnels—while steering clear of the risks. Here are some of the best sales training courses available today:

1 One Funnel Away Challenge

The One Funnel Away Challenge is a 30-day plan that details the steps online entrepreneurs need to build and launch a sales funnel. The primary aim of the sales training course is to help businesses push products and convert prospects into customers. This includes writing amazing sales copy, upselling your products, maintaining high conversion rates, and addressing common objections (more on this later).

2 Grant Cardone’s Sales Training

Motivational speaker, best-selling author, sales coach, and real estate mogul – Grant Cardone has quite a rapport. And he shares some of the tips that propelled him into the success he is today through his sales training course. It includes everything from the selling basics, understanding the buyer, to industry-leading strategies to master the sales process. Although it’s not explicitly a sales funnel course, you get to learn most—if not all—of the processes/steps in a typical sales funnel.

3 The Ultimate ClickFunnels Training Course on Udemy

This is a Udemy-hosted rigorous course by Nathan Williams in which he dives deep into every imaginable detail about sales funnels. With thousands of students in his roaster, it’s easy to see why this is one of the best sales funnel training courses. Williams walks you through the entire process of building and maintaining a sales funnel—including the best way to design and launch an optimized landing page. Keep in mind that the entire course is hinged on the ClickFunnels SaaS software.

4 Kellogg School of Management’s High-Impact Selling: A Toolkit for Success

Quoting the Kellogg School of Management course description, “In this online program you will gain a comprehensive view of the entire sales process – from preparation through contact and on to scaling – by building the necessary sales and management habits that lead to success.” The course is ideal for new and established entrepreneurs looking to acquire the best tools and practices in sales.

What is the One Funnel Away Challenge? – Brief Description

Apparently, you’re just one funnel away from…well, that business goal on the back of your mind right now. Launching that one funnel could revolutionize your business. This is the driving force behind the One Funnel Away Challenge.

The 30-day challenge aims to teach budding online or offline entrepreneurs everything about building a game-changing funnel, setting it up, and launching it. It’s a combination of videos and daily assignments to keep you going through the entirety of the 5 weeks.

The course targets both professionals and entrepreneurs who are new to the world of traffic and funnels. It takes a generalized viewpoint that helps it reach a larger target audience. As Russell Brunson—the man behind the course—put it, the One Funnel Away Challenge is meant to give you “The life you want, the marriage you want… The family that you want.” And all this is going to be “fueled by the business you build.”

Are You Really Just One Funnel Away from Mastering Traffic and Funnels?

As much as a sales funnel could potentially turn your struggling business into a well-oiled money-making machine, the claim by OFA is far-fetched—and rather bold at best. Not to throw shade at Russell Brunson and his team—but you will need a truckload of “rabbits’ feet” and an alignment of all your star for one funnel to turn your business into an overnight success. Here’s the basis of this argument.

A funnel is just one piece on the business chessboard. Yes, it may open a path for you to attack the opposing king—but it demands the coordinated movement of other pieces if you’re to navigate your way to success.

Chess references aside, it’s unlikely that a single funnel will address all your problems as an entrepreneur. There a product to develop, a target audience to understand, traffic to generate, and an offer to deliver. Each of these steps requires its own level of attention—and in some cases, a different funnel.

There’s a lot of work that goes into building, launching, and maintaining funnels. A 30-day course will not automatically change this. If anything, the title “One Funnel Away Challenge” is bait to capture your attention. But things only get interesting when you take this bait.

While it’s hard to condone the approach by OFAC to attract students, I respect the habits and knowledge that the course instills. More specifically, it fires you up to take initiative and overcome some common barriers—including lack of technical knowledge, reluctance/laziness to learn new skills, and lack of a well-defined sales structure.

The Brains Behind the Operation – OFAC Coaches

The One Funnel Away Challenge is brought to you courtesy of 3 highly-regarded digital marketing experts—i.e. Russell Brunson, Julie Stoian, and Stephen Larsen. All of these coaches are proven experts in online business and they’ve all leveraged sales funnel along their journey. Get to know more about who they are below.

Russell Brunson – The Strategist

At this point, Russell Brunson doesn’t really need an introduction. He’s a staple name in the world of digital marketing—and even nicknamed the “funnel guy,” owing to his nearly-inseparable association with funnels.

But for the sake of those who are new to sales funnels, Brunson is the co-founder of ClickFunnels (one of the leading funnel building software). He burst onto the scene nearly a decade ago—and quickly changed how digital marketers approach the concept of traffic and funnels. He’s also the author of best-selling books such as DotCom SecretsExpert Secrets, and  Traffic Secrets.

In the One Funnel Away Challenge, he takes up the role of “The Strategist”—guiding users on the best mindset and strategies to build sales funnels that actually work. He lays down the groundwork based on his experience and in-depth knowledge of the industry. Expect informative daily coaching videos from the strategist.

Julie Stoian – The Transformer

Ambitions are merely dreams—and it’s up to you to turn them into a reality. This is the role of Julie Stoian—the Vice President of Marketing at ClickFunnels. As a Two Comma Club Winner, she more than understands how to make the most of funnels. She also has an enviable growth-hacking track record. Some of the brands she has helped create include Digital Insider, Funnel Gorgeous, and Create Your Laptop Life.

She takes you through the “grind”—showing you everything you need to know about turning the strategies by Russell Brunson into actionable lessons. If your main goal is to turn your business plans, goals, and ambitions into a running funnel, Stoian’s lessons will be a wonderful resource.

Stephen Larsen – The Executioner

Completing the trio of funnel experts is Stephen Larsen. Also a Two Comma Club Winner, Larsen is the guy who riles you up and pushes you forward to complete your daily tasks—hence his nickname, The Executioner.

Larsen is actually an alumnus of Russell Brunson’s work. His journey into ClickFunnels started with a copy of DotCom Secrets, attending Funnel Hacking events…and the rest is history. He is characterized by his trademark enthusiasm and fun demeanor that helps liven the One Funnel Away Challenge.

Brunson strategizes, Stoian transforms, and Larsen executes. In addition to these three coaches, the One Funnel Away Challenge also gives you access to interviews with several Two Comma Club winners.

You’re required to create your own unique story and test your hooks to see if they capture the attention of your target audience. You’ll also learn how to make people identify with/feel connected with you and your offering.

The specific content covered in Week 2 includes:

Week 3 – The Funnel

Mindset (check), hooks/stories (check), testing hooks/stories (check) – now it’s time to transform all this into a funnel. Week 3 teaches you how to build sales funnels based on your hooks/stories from the previous week. This is when you get your hands dirty as you learn how to actually use ClickFunnels—including creating landing pages, writing catchy headlines, and creating sales.

The specific content covered in Week 3 includes:

Week 4 – Make it Rain

Traffic is the backbone of any online business. It’s the lifeline that keeps your business running—and any loss of traffic directly affects your sales. With this in mind, Russel and his team will teach you the “secrets” to mastering traffic and funnels. Expect in-depth explanations on different types of traffic (i.e., ads, social media, email lists), generating more traffic, and increasing the number of quality leads. Week 4 training also includes the steps to optimize your sales funnels for maximum benefits.

The specific content covered in Week 4 includes:

Up to its Promise?

There’s one enduring question in every online entrepreneur’s mind: “how do I build a brand to boost my sales?” | builder all

Success begins with an understanding of the secrets to growth. The same way our bodies and minds develop each passing year; businesses are also expected to show at least a semblance of growth. After a few years, you stop being a startup – you either wither off and die, or rise.

One thing that differentiates those who fail and those who take their businesses to the next level is the tools. Just like a carpenter, an online business owner is only as good as his tools.

“The best investment is in the tools of one's own trade.”
—Benjamin Franklin

What does a short rant on tools and a quote by Benjamin Franklin have to do with Builderall? In our modern tech-savvy world, the tools needed to drive growth in an online business are the SaaS software. The right digital marketing tools can differentiate your business from competitors. And this is where Builderall comes in.

Builderall is a culmination of nearly every digital marketing tool you can think of. Rather than scuttle around the internet looking for different tools to drive your online business forward, Builderall tosses everything in one comprehensive platform.

To quote the company word-for-word, they claim to beThe most powerful and complete digital marketing and online business platform ever created.” But this is a rather bold claim—especially considering all the other digital marketing tools currently in the market.

So, can the features, pricing, and user experiences substantiate this claim? Or is it just an audacious claim to attract budding online entrepreneurs looking to push their products? Let’s find out!

This is article is designed to offer an in-depth and transparent analysis of everything you need to know about Builderall before investing your hard-earned money into the SaaS software. By the time you’re done reading this Builderall review, you’ll have a pretty good idea of whether this is the digital marketing solution for you—or not.

5 of The Best “All-in-One”
Digital Marketing Software

Builderall is just one of many when it comes to digital marketing tools. According to market data, the global digital marketing software market is expected to grow by 17.4% between 2000 and 2027 – from a value of $43.8 billion in 2019. This goes to show that there a ton of players in the industry. So, which are the best digital marketing software/tools?

HubSpot

Ever heard of HubSpot? Who am I kidding? Of course, you’ve heard of one of the largest inbound marketing companies around. HubSpot is easily the go-to authority for anything related to digital marketing.

The inbound marketing software offers a ton of features—including SEO tools, blog & content creation tools, analytics dashboards, marketing automation, landing pages, social media tools, contact management, and many more. Pricing starts at $40/month (Starter Pack), $800 (Professional Pack), and $3,200 (Enterprise Pack).

semrush

Market research, Content & PR, social media marketing tools, paid traffic, SEO – SEMrush does it all. The all-in-one marketing toolkit primarily focuses on getting your recognized organically. It’s ideal for small and large businesses alike.

Although its functionality is vast, the platform has carved a rapport in the industry for their expertise in SEO services. They have three pricing plans, namely, Pro ($99.95/month), Guru ($199.95/month), and Business ($399.95/month).

ClickFunnels

Clickfunnels is a SaaS software co-founded by highly-regarded Russell Brunson. Although not exactly a digital marketing software, ClickFunnels more-or-less solves the same consumer needs as other software in this list. Specifically, the SaaS software allows users to build sales funnels, collect leads, increase conversion rates, and scale their online businesses.

With ClickFunnels, you can build high-converting landing pages, launch email marketing campaigns, build membership sites, track conversions, and even host domains. You have to agree with me…this sounds eerily like digital marketing software. Pricing starts at $97/month for the Basic Plan and $297/month for ClickFunnels Platinum.

MailChimp

MailChimp is an all-in-one marketing platform whose main audience includes small and mid-sized companies. As you can tell from the brand name, it was originally designed as an email marketing tool—but later expanded to include other tools.

MailChimp offers pre-designed templates to launch effective marketing campaigns and target audiences. They have 4 pricing plans—including Free ($0), Essentials ($9.99), Standard ($14.99), and Premium ($299).

Builderall in a Nutshell – What is
the Marketing Platform All About?

  • Product: Builderall
  • CEO/Founder: Erick Salgado
  • Website: builderall.com
  • Created: 2017
  • Unique Selling Position (USP): “All the Tools You Will Ever Need to Quickly & Easily Grow Your Business Online.”
  • Number of Users: More than 280,000 (At the time of publishing this post)
  • Price: FREE (but painfully limited)

What is Builderall? Simple answer: it’s a digital marketing and online selling platform. But when you start to peer deeper into the software, you quickly realize that it’s so many things. Builderall is a webinar software, website builder, email marketing platform, funnel builder, a blogging platform—and a dozen other things. For now, let’s just say it’s quite expansive.

It’s designed to be the center of your business operations as you grind your way to the top. And by having all your marketing and sales tools in one place, you’re better positioned to succeed. How so? It’s cheaper than buying each tool separately and you get to save valuable time. With time on your hands and few extra bucks in your account, you gain a competitive advantage.

However, I tend to liken Builderall to a Swiss army knife. Versatile enough to handle any situation that arises—but not “fine-tuned’ or specialized enough to do the best job. Read on to find out why I think Builderall is a jack of all trades, master on none.

The Story Behind Builderall

Everyone loves a good back story – it’s how humans connect. In the case of Builderall, their story began over a decade ago. A Brazilian serial entrepreneur launched a U.S. company known as eBusiness4us in 2008. The “entrepreneur” I’m talking about is Erick Salgado—a guy who is more of a legend in his home country’s digital world.

From his experience in digital marketing and online entrepreneurship, Erick noticed a gap in the market. In his eyes, a significant number of budding entrepreneurs didn’t have access to important tools. From expensive tools, spammers, to an endless stream of competitors offering similar products—the market was in disarray. His solution?

What if entrepreneurs had access to a tool that could truly help them achieve online success? It would be a single, smart platform, offered at one low price that isn’t complicated to set up or code.” And just like that, the journey to the creation of one of the most comprehensive SaaS companies began. A few years later, Builderall was born—and is now one of the main players in the industry.

Builderall Features – Everything
You Need to Know!

Not to the juicy part! What are Builderall’s features?

Remember, the main selling point of Builderall is its long list of features and tools—touted to meet all your online business needs. So, brace yourself for a lengthy section as I comb through the SaaS software. (PS: Some of these features are only available with the more expensive “Essential” and “Premium” plans).

Ready to step into the nitty-gritty of Builderall? Here are some of its main features.

Cheetah Drag-and-Drop Website Builder

By now the importance of having a business website should be obvious. Builderall offers an intuitive drag-and-drop website builder that only allows you to create beautiful pages—but a fast one. Dubbed cheetah, the website builder has been shown to load a 154.1 KB page in a meager 456ms.

This is arguably Builderall’s best feature. As long as you know how to click and drag a computer mouse, you’re good to go. It’s like messing around on a canvas—whereby you simply change color and position items on your web page casually. As a bonus, the pages are designed to be SEO friendly, optimized for mobile devices, and responsive.  Plus get this; you can now build a free website.

Dedicated Servers – Web Hosting

For a website to appear online, it must be hosted. Ordinarily, users have to turn to web hosting companies such as Bluehost, Go Daddy, HostGator, and the like. But these services don’t come cheap—especially when they’re dedicated. For example, Bluehost’s dedicated hosting starts at $79.99 while Go Daddy’s will set you back $99.99. Therefore, Builderall’s web hosting is relatively cheap—hence a great bargain. As a cherry on top of the cake, the platform automatically handles your backup, security, and maintenance issues.

Extensive Range of Templates

Templates! Templates! Templates everywhere! Whether you’re looking to build a single landing page, a sales funnel, a webinar page, or an entire website, there’s a template for you. Builderall is jam-packed with a near-endless selection of customizable and fully-optimized templates. The wide range of designs cover every niche and industry—from education, news, agency, beauty, fitness, travel, music, to events. This comes in handy when web design and creativity are not your forte. But if you’re a seasoned “Mr. Robot” itching to flex your skills, Builderall also allows you to start from scratch.

Funnels Builder

In online selling or digital marketing, funnels are everything! A well-designed funnel effectively captures leads and guides them through your sales process seamlessly. Builderall allows you to choose between over 20 high-converting sale funnels—including Squeeze Funnel, Lead Magnet Funnel, Free Trial Funnel, Invisible Funnel, Product Launch Funnel, Webinar Funnel, and Split Test Funnel, among others.

But to be completely honest, Builderall’s funnel building feature is a shadow of what competitors such as ClickFunnels offers. This brings me back to my “Swiss knife” analogy. Sure, I admire the fact that they allow users to build funnels—but you can’t help but feel they didn’t really put their back to it. It’s not as feature-rich or user-friendly for beginners who don’t know anything about funnels.

Chatbot

Ever noticed the discrete chat icons on the bottom-right of nearly every website today? If so (and I’m sure you have), that’s a chatbot at work. According to a forecast by Gartner Research, chatbots are poised to facilitate more than 80% of customer support engagements.

Having a chatbot on your website creates a seamless customer experience through rapid responses and personalization. They also help you save costs and increase conversion rates. With Builderall’s SiteBot, you can easily create chatbots for your sites in a few simple steps.

A/B Split Testing

You can create A/B splits tests using the Builderall’s canvas. This lets you create different versions of a sales funnel, landing page, and website to see which one performs better. Based on the test results, you can focus your resources on the designs that yield the highest results. To create a split test, navigate to your Builderall canvas, click on the specific element your wish to test, and select “Create split test.

Heat Mapping

For a website to appear online, it must be hosted. Ordinarily, users have to turn to web hosting companies such as Bluehost, Go Daddy, HostGator, and the like. But these services don’t come cheap—especially when they’re dedicated. For example, Bluehost’s dedicated hosting starts at $79.99 while Go Daddy’s will set you back $99.99. Therefore, Builderall’s web hosting is relatively cheap—hence a great bargain. As a cherry on top of the cake, the platform automatically handles your backup, security, and maintenance issues.

Floating Video

Looking to grab the attention of your audience from the moment they land on your website? A report by Optinmonster shows that digital marketers who use video get 66% more qualified leads and 54% more brand awareness.

With Builderall’s “floating video” feature, you can upload a video and ‘stick’ it to your landing page. Have a look at Builderall’s website for a demonstration of the feature.

Presentations Builder

Builderall has a presentation builder that’s useful for creating slick, attractive, and professional presentations for your business. But what’s the point when there are other free—but optimized—presentation tools in the market. The like of SlideShare, Keynote, Prezi, and Google Slides offer more functionality and usability than Builderall’s presentation builder.

Animated Videos Tool

Wannabe animators, Assemble!  Builderall has a nifty tool that creates animated explainer videos. You can add sounds, eye-catching effects, pre-designed characters, videos, backgrounds, and text.

These videos are effective at showcasing your offering, especially on sales pages or social media.  The Animated Videos tool is user-friendly—meaning you don’t have to watch hours of tutorials or apply for a course to make a video. For this, I tilt my hat to Builderall. The only downside is that the feature is only available with the Premium package.

Design Studio

Create striking videos and images for your social media, eBooks, courses, products, and websites with Builderall’s design studio. The feature is highly customizable—allowing you to edit, add effects or transitions, and adjust the size of images. If you’re repulsed by the stock photos (of which I was), you can upload your own videos or images. The Design Studio an appreciated feature—just not all that necessary.

app creator

Believe it or not, you can build, edit, and publish apps without in-depth technical knowledge. This is what Builderall’s App Creators is touted to do. You can add a code scan, RSS feed, video or audio files, social media links, and a news wall to your apps. And before you start questioning your programming skills (or lack thereof), the App Creator is easy to use.

But please note that you’re limited in the types of apps you can create. Don’t expect to build a SaaS product or a game with the tool.

MailingBoss – Email Marketing

Email marketing is often considered a cornerstone of digital marketing. It’s how you capture leads, build relationships, and convert prospects into returning buyers. Builderall’s MailingBoss comes with pre-built templates and a drag-and-drop feature—allowing you to create email sequences in an instant. You can organize lists and leads by using behavior triggers and tags. My favorite feature of the Builderall’s email marketing tool is the fact that you get unlimited email campaigns – i.e., you can send to as many  recipients as you like. Unfortunately, the MailingBoss isn’t particularly, the best email marketing tool available. It trails behind more established and elaborate platforms such as GetResponse, SendinBlue, and MailChimp. They seem to sacrifice functionality for simplicity.

On-Page SEO

I’m personally big on traffic! Without traffic to your website or business, your products or services mean nothing. To help you out with your searchability and visibility on search engines, Builderall has an on-page SEO tool. It analyzes the optimization of your website and gives a score.

Information from the on-page SEO tool can be used to streamline your content or digital marketing efforts for better results. The tool can give you real insight into the keyword ranking of any URL—including your competitors. Again, SEO is not the best. It works, but the likes of Yoast are better.

Script Generator

The script generator helps you create persuasive copy for your emails, funnels, or website. It’s designed in a step-by-step structure—starting with detailing of your target customer, your industry, and the context of your script (e.g., webpage).

Considering its competitors such as FunnelScripts will dig deep into your wallet, Builderall’s Script Generator is a steal. But bear with the occasional grammatical errors.

E-Commerce Store Builder

Looking to leverage the booming eCommerce market? In an age where the retail market is moving online at warp speed, it’s running an eCommerce store is a potential gold mine.

Builderall offers a ton of eCommerce features—including streamlined checkouts, popups, and coupons. The platform also allows you to choose your delivery or payment options. As a bonus, the eCommerce store builder integrates with other tools such as Shopify, Stripe, and PayPal.

e-Learning App

Design lessons and create courses with Builderall’s eLearning App. From tests, course material, quizzes, to informative videos—the tool is a wonderful resource. There’s no limit to the number course you can design.

If your business model is primarily based on courses or online classes, the eLearning App may be underwhelming. It’s not an ideal option for users who need feature-rich or elaborate solutions.

Build Membership Sites

You can restrict an area of your website—transforming it into a membership site. Depending on your business model, you can charge a monthly subscription fee or offer free membership. This is a great way to give your website an exclusive or exciting feel.

Webinar Creator

With Builderall’s Webinar Creator, you can publish recorded or live webinars through the platform. You can also upload videos from external sources such as YouTube or your desktop and embed the webinars on your webpages.

Other features of the Webinar Creator include scheduling start times, chat to engage with viewers, password protection, integration with MailingBoss, and an option to monitor statistics. You can also launch programmed bots to acts as “ghost users.”

Blog Builder

Creating SEO optimized, engaging, and informative content is a necessity for online or brick-and-mortar store today. The competition is doing—and you cannot afford to be left behind. Builderall attempts to address this need with its Blog Builder. The tool is intuitive and simple enough for beginners and professionals alike. Creating and posting blogs is quick and easy. When combined with an on-page SEO tool and the Script Generator, the Blog Builder is a great tool.

Builderall Vs ClickFunnels

Owing to the level of competition between these two SaaS companies, a Builderall vs ClickFunnels showdown was inevitable. So, who packs the hardest punch?

Market Share/Popularity – Winner: Clickfunnels

Builderall and ClickFunnels are both powerful and relatively popular digital marketing and online selling solutions. However, Google Trend results show a huge contrast between the platforms.

As far as market reach and popularity as concerned, Clickfunnels is clearly the top dog in this matchup. But market share does not tell the whole story. When compared side-by-side, each platform lands a blow or two on the other.

Pricing Structure – Winner: Builderall

When making a purchase, we all want to maximize value for our money. The product/service offering should coincide with the price tag. In the case of the Clickfunnels vs Builderall pricing comparison, Builderall packs a mean punch. With a starting price of $19.90 (read on for more of Builderall pricing), Builderall is significantly cheaper—compared to Clickfunnels’ $97.

Versatility – Winner: Builderall

Builderall is easily the undisputed champion of versatility. Few digital marketing platforms—if any—offer as many tools as Builderall. As they state, they’re “The most powerful and complete digital marketing and online business platform ever created.” That one claim that they lived up to. No to take anything away from Clickfunnels—but Russell Brunson’s company is outnumbered. The only area it might come on top in the numbers game is in its compatibility with a wide range of integrations.

Stability – Winner: Clickfunnels

As I’ve reiterated throughout the article, Builderall is a jack of all trades, master on none. Clickfunnels is noticeably more optimized and stable. The sales funnels, split-testing capabilities, checkout pages, landing pages, webinars, and email autoresponders are more fine-tuned. Clickfunnels also boasts of a better support system—which is essential for businesses whose activities are hinged on the platform.

And the Winner is…

The overall winner in the Clickfunnels Vs Builderall showdown comes down to you! What are your personal preferences? What do you want from digital marketing software? Luckily, there’s a ClickFunnels and Builderall free trial. You can visit the respective websites to take each of the SaaS companies for a test run before deciding the best solution for your unique needs.

The first thing you notice when you visit their pricing page is a tag at the top—which spells “We Believe in Under-Pricing & Over-Delivering…” Next are five pricing plans as shown in the diagram below. Help and Support Services by Builderall

As you can tell from this Builderall review, the SaaS software is vast. There’s a wide variety of tools to master if you’re to leverage their capabilities. Setting up an online business with so many options can be a daunting endeavor.

Worse still, the risk of complications is higher. Assuming you come across an obstacle or a problem with your digital marketing tools. Does Builderall offer the help you need? How responsive is the support team? You can access help and support services through the customer support system of their relatively extensive knowledge base.

Customer Support

All Builderall pricing plans give you access to a live chat feature and ticketing system. For the latter, head over to support page and open a ticket—stating your concerns, questions, or issues. The support team will review your query and respond appropriately.

However, some users claim that they had to wait over 24 hours for a response. This can be a huge inconvenience if you’re constrained by tight schedules. Live chat is a newer feature—and a welcomed one. It allows instant responses and seamless user experience.

Knowledge Base

Builderall offers hundreds of videos designed to help new users in the onboarding process. The step-by-step tutorials cover the ins & outs of nearly all the tools. Alternatively, you can also take advantage of their YouTube channel for extra help or advice.

Builderall has a Facebook group that is quite useful for members looking to connect with other users. It’s a great opportunity to learn a few tricks and tips to make the most of the software. Builderall also regularly provides details on any update in the blog. This ensures you’re always on par with any new developments.

Pros and Cons of
Builderall

A Builderall review cannot be complete without an unbiased critique of the software. Where does it shine—and where does Builderall falter? Here are the Pros and Cons:

Pros

User-Friendly: The interface
is simple and easy to navigate. Builderall’s drag-and-drop feature also empower beginners and veterans alike.

Tons of Features: The sheer number of tools is the main selling point of Builderall—and they deliver on their promise. You can literally do anything with the platform.

Affordable: Compared to other digital marketing platforms in the market, Builderall is noticeably cheaper and geared towards startups and aspiring users who are strapped for cash.

Appeals to a Wide Market: Most digital marketing solutions target a specific demographic. But not Builderall. The software is designed to cater to the needs of a diverse audience. This means that more people can benefit
from the platform.

Builderall Free Trial: Anything with a free trial is always attractive. People love free stuff and it also points to the company’s confidence in their product.

SEO-Friendly: From the website building templates to the on-site SEO tool, Builderall clearly pays close attention to your site’s visibility on search engines. This is great for online businesses that want to grow organically.

cons

Limited Functionality: Sure, Builderall is jam-packed with features—and we appreciate it. But none of the tools are the best at what they do. For example, the funnel builder could use more customization
options and details.

Transferability: let’s say you’ve created a website with the Cheetah website. What happens when you want to move to another provider such as WordPress? Builderall is not compatible with other content management software.

Learning Curve: Although the tools are simple and easy to use, the wide variety of options might be intimidating for some users.

Testimonials and Reviews
from Real Users

This Builderall review is largely my opinion. But opinions differ from one user to another. For this reason, it’s important to look at what other people think about the software. This ensures you’re well-informed before you decide to invest in the software.

Positive Reviews

Based on Builderall reviews collected from Trustpilot and G2, most users are ecstatic over the platform’s affordability, ease of use, and the variety of options it offers.

Negative Reviews

But as expected, the reviews were not all roses and sunshine. Some user expressed their displeasure with Builderall’s support team. And you take a look at some of the positive reviews above, some people point to a steep learning curve and the lack of compatibility with WordPress.

My Two Cents About
Builderall

All things considered; I believe Builderall is a useful tool for any online entrepreneur. The platform offers all the tools and features needed to build and run a successful business. Add the low-costs into the broth and you have a great product on your hands.

However, it’s important to note that the relevance/usability/effectiveness of Builderall depends on your business model as shown below:

Blogging:

Builderall is touted to handle all your blogging needs. While this is true, the service is not built specifically for the needs of bloggers. The Blog Builder does not have all the feature you might need—and the other vast number of tools are overkill

Service-Based Businesses:

People who work in service-based businesses typically have a marketable skill. And to be visible, they need to advertise their services. Builderall may be of immense use to such users. Tools such as membership sites, webinars, sales funnels, and on-site SEO can help them scale their business.

Startups:

If you’re a startup, registering for Builderall is a no-brainer. The platform offers email marketing, website building, cost-saving, webinars, funnels building, and A/B split testing—which are all features new businesses need.

Long story short, Builderall is an affordable and powerful way to build your business—but it could use some ironing.

Reviewing DotComSecrets By Russell Brunson

Reviewing DotComSecrets By Russell Brunson
A Manual for
Selling Anything
Online (or Not)?

Starting with a fun fact…did you know that the first online purchase was made in 1994—and some news outlets referred to it as a ““tele-shopping magical experience”? Fast-forwarding to just 2 decades later, this so-called “magical experience” is the norm. | Russell Brunson

Online shopping is arguably the revelation of the 21st century. From a novel concept marred in criticism, it’s now a trillion-dollar industry—that keeps expanding. According to recent statistics, e-commerce sales skyrocketed from $1.3 trillion in 2014 to $4.2 trillion in 2020.

Why is this relevant? The same way the Gold Rush defined the 19th Century, online shopping is set to define the 21st Century—and beyond. Taking advantage of this lucrative trend demands a certain level of finesse, skill, and knowledge. In other words, selling online is an art and science! This is where Russell Brunson and his DotCom Secrets book come in—claiming to hold tried-and-tested “Secrets” to make it big.

The book—which is the first installment of a “Secrets” trilogy—aims to provide readers with actionable information to make the online marketplace your playground. It’s touted to offer the secrets to selling anything to an

online market of over 2 billion shoppers. But as much as e-commerce is an industry that’s ripe for the taking, succeeding as an online entrepreneur is easier said than done.

The Issue with Selling Products and Service Online

According to several sources—including Forbes and HuffPost—up to 90% of online startup fail within 4 months. This points to a serious challenge in the industry. Why are so many online entrepreneurs giving up? And what can be done to change the narrative?

One of the main “thorns in the side” of most online businesses is the lack of conversion and traffic generation. Make a mistake with your digital marketing technique or sales model—and you’re doomed to be part of the “failure statistic.”

It’s imperative to understand that times have changed—along with traffic generation and SEO practices. Some common traffic generation mistakes include:

Content that Doesn’t Offer Value

Content is king! This is a phrase that was popularized by the late Steve Jobs—and it still holds true today. But when it comes to digital marketing, content creation can be a complex endeavor.

When people first learned of the importance of content, many churned out blog content in a factory-esque zeal—paying little regard to the quality of the value of their posts. But as expected “checks-and-balances” soon followed in the form of improvement to the Google algorithm. Those who focused on quantity over quality endured the full wrath of the search engine.

My point is that the content you share should be of great value to prospects – i.e. if you hope to generate traffic. Russell Brunson’s DotComSecrets highlight this issue through the concept of a funnel.

Using the Wrong Conversion Strategy

Selling online doesn’t end with generating traffic – it’s just the first step. After you have successfully gained your targeted customer’s attention you will need a well-calculated strategy to turn them into paying customers. Ask yourself: “How will I convince people who visit my website to invest in my services and products?” The answer to this question starts with learning the strategies that work and those that don’t – hence the importance of considering books such as DotComSecrets.

Unscrupulous SEO Practices

Sure, keywords are important for search engine optimization—but just like most things in life, overdoing it does more harm than good. Stuffing keywords into your content or using any other “Black Hat” SEO practices might seem like a fast and easy route to ranking higher for traffic generation—but is it really the best way to go about it? The harm such practices can do to your SEO tactic is immense.

When you use keywords, make sure you approach the subject strategically – unless you want to risk receiving a spam flag.  Instead, opt for tried-and-tested SEO tactics that improve your odds of attracting traffic. Case in point, the purpose of Russel Brunson’s “Secrets” trilogy of books.

Failure to Act on Best Practices

Luckily, Internet Marketing books are readily available to anyone who has an interest in making it big with regard to selling online. There are different books that offer different success strategies to perfect your marketing skills. However, these resources can only help you overcome low traffic and lead generation problems if you leverage and actualize their lessons – which brings us to the main point of this article.  What “lessons” does DotCom Secrets provide? And if there are valuable as advertised, how can you make the best of them?

DotComSecrets in a Nutshell

1st Edition (2015): Dotcomsecrets—The Underground Playbook for Growing Your Company Online

2nd Edition (2020): Dotcom Secrets—The Underground Playbook for Growing Your Company Online with

Sales Funnels.

Author: Russell Brunson

Website: dotcomsecrets.com

Audiobook ISBN: 9781977309679

Hardcover ISBN: 9781401960469

What Makes DotComSecrets Different from Other Internet Marketing Books?

There are tons of internet marketing books—each with their own perspective and nugget of wisdom. So, what makes DotCom Secrets worth my consideration? Well, I was first attracted to the book due to its backstory and underlying factors. In particular, the author’s experiences and the purported purpose of the book.

A Sneak Peek into the Author – Russell Brunson

Born in the 80s, Russell grew up as a normal kid. His father (Ross Brunson) and mother (Marde Brunson) made sure they supported him in every way—as any good parents should. But despite his typical upbringing, Russell showed a unique passion for collecting junk, and venturing into any business offer that came his way made him differ from other kids his age. Some of his notable achievements that make his proposition even more convincing include:

At just the age of 25, Russell created a product— “How to Create A Potato Gun”—which was purposed to help its buyers and act as an upsell. This was his first venture into the online marketing industry. After his college graduation, the potato gun project earned him decent figures—and poised him for a future in online business.

In 2003, his prowess in online marketing manifested through a one-of-a-kind marketing tool known as Zip Brander. Its purpose was to automatically increase backend profits and boost the number of prospects visiting a website.

In 2014, he took a big step in his career by co-founding the company, Clickfunnels (also known as Etison LLC) along with Todd Dickerson. The software company grew into a million-dollar one and had over 100,000 paying customers in the first three years since it was launched.

He later decided to share his success stories and inspire people. He wrote and published his “secrets” books—one of them being DotCom Secrets, which became a best seller with 250,000+ copies.

In 2018 he coached over 206 ordinary people into millionaires using his software, training, and teachings and later assembled as part of the “2 Comma Club” (PS: The club’s name is derived from the commas on $1,000,000).

Purpose of the Book

Do you want to excel in the lucrative e-commerce industry? Of course, you do! Otherwise, you wouldn’t be reading this post in the first place. DotComSecrets claims to offer a solution to this universal goal by targeting the most common challenges facing online businesses – generating traffic and converting prospects.

Over the years, the question of why a website gets low traffic—or has traffic but generates low leads—has on several occasions, gone unanswered. Russell realized that there were too many companies going to a fall due to low traffic and conversions.

But with Russell encountering the same problems many of us encounter and succeeding, DotComSecrets gets a point. As highlighted earlier, the book Dotcom Secrets aims to provide the secrets to getting more traffic and increasing conversion rates. The author includes sales scripts, marketing funnels, and other strategies to sell online.

If you have been active in the online industry or digital marketing, you might have heard whispers of Russell and his books. Although DotComSecrets was originally released in 2015, the book still causes a stir in the industry to-date. Unsurprisingly, it has racked up quite a number of positive reviews—partly due to the relevance of the information, which is relatable to most.

Why Read DotComSecrets in the First Place? – Potential Benefits

Just like a recipe book, Dotcom Secrets is organized in a step-by-step format—making sure you have all the ingredients and instructions necessary. The book not only contains “how-to” questions, but also the guidelines to conquering the questions. Here are some benefits of reading the book (based on my personal experience/opinion).

The book is for all businesses, whether a new one or an already existing one.

For the new businesses, you get to learn the importance of a funnel and the book goes to show you how to create one.

For the social media “holics”, you get to learn how you can use your social media hobby to attract your ideal customer.

It will help you understand your clients’ needs so that you can major in offering the best.

Once you know the type of client that can benefit from your product, you can devise better ways to reel them in.

You will learn the importance of quality over quantity—and how you can score loyal customers in the process.

However, the benefits above are merely my take on the book after combing through its page. The key question remains; is DotComSecrets valuable for YOU? Is worth buying, reading, or incorporating it into your business strategy? Read on for a summary of what is in the book.

What Should You Expect inside Russell Brunson’s Dotcom Secrets (1st Edition)?

Now to what really matters—the actual content housed between the covers of the book. As elaborated below, the DotComSecrets is structured in five sections—with each of them addressing a different purpose, style, or strategy.

Ladder and funnels – SECTION 1 Here

We always want to sell the most expensive product or the best services to our customers. But in a practical online setting this more of a fairy tale. In reality, clients often don’t have the courage and trust to take on high-value products.

Russell  Brunson begins by introducing the value ladder. This is designed to help you visualize the services or products you offer—starting from the lowest to the highest in terms of prices. On the lowest point, the customers are more willing to purchase your products/services, but as they get comfortable, they turn to your most expensive products—which of course have more value than those lower in the ladder.

The sales funnel model proposed by Russel is designed to help you capture customers in ascending order. But before this, he insists on the need of knowing who your dream customers are. Russel goes ahead to divide website traffic into 3 different parts—which I’ll only mention since I don’t want to spoil the fun for you.

The traffic you control

The traffic you don’t control

The traffic you own

Your Communication or Follow-up Funnel – SECTION 2

The same way you are “attracted” to Brunson and his ideas is the same way your customers should be “attracted” to you. Brunson describes an attractive character as an important aspect of making your sales funnel strategy thrive. In this case, the attractive character refers to someone that the target customers or rather ideal clients can relate to.

In my opinion, the most interesting part of this section is the last bit. He gives scripts of how you can send emails to the customers who have already signed up for your offering or proposition. In particular, he elaborates his “daily Seinfeld sequence” email strategy.

Funnelology – SECTION 3

A successful funnel is one that has been designed based on tactics derived from what works – i.e., other successful funnels. This section is meant to encourage you to take advice from experienced professionals who have succeeded funnel-wise—and leverage it for your growth Russel highlights 5 elements of different campaigns that are successful—including lessons on reverse-engineering the structure of your competitor’s funnel. He also highlighted 7 more phases associated with a funnel:

To make you understand the different phases he states that: The real difference between having a six-, seven-, or even eight-figure business is whether you understand the phases of a funnel and can successfully monetize the different points along the line” The last part of the chapter covers all the twenty-three block builders of a funnel. He compared creating a funnel to matching different blocks together. I really found this part more practical and workable.

Funnels and Scripts – SECTION 4

This section consists of extremely amazing ways that you can use to promote your funnels or product offerings. Russell  Brunson states that the offers should follow a specific rule to emerge into a perfect One Time Offer (OTO). He goes ahead to give the trick he uses to create his funnels and how they work.

The final part of this chapter covers the different types of funnels i.e.

Frontend funnel

Middle and value ladder funnel

Backend funnel

Clickfunnels – SECTION 5

This being the last section, Russell Brunson takes the opportunity to advertise his product – Clickfunnels. If you happened to miss what Clickfunnels is, it’s a multi-million-dollar SaaS software company that Russell Brunson—in partnership with Todd Dickerson—brought created. I believe this section also serves to motivate readers to strive for similar height as ClickFunnels.

How Does DotComSecrets Compare with Other Books by Russell Brunson?

Brunson has authored three “secrets” books namely:

Dotcom Secrets

Expert Secrets

Traffic secrets

Dotcom Secrets vs Expert Secrets

Dotcom Secrets majors on people who have companies that need more traffic conversion and online sales growth. On the other hand, Expert Secrets is primarily focused on helping new and established businesses cement themselves as experts.

Dotcom Secrets vs Traffic Secrets

Dotcom Secrets elaborates on the processes that you need to follow to understand your customers’ price range using a “value ladder”, how you can create good communication with them, and how you can create or grow your funnels. Traffic Secrets on the other hand majors on how to know your dream customer and fill your funnels—plus several growth hacks you can use.

Pros and Cons of Dotcom Secrets

Why should you order DotComSecrets? And why shouldn’t you order the book? Here are some advantages and disadvantages I picked up on while reading the book. This information is also based on information from the views of other readers on the internet.

PROS

  • One of the biggest advantages of using Dotcom Secrets is the fact that you get to know the value ladders and sales funnels that can add value to your marketing strategies and scripts.

AN IN-DEPTH REVIEW

You might be wondering whether or not you should give SEMrush a try. With so many SEO tools to choose from, it can be a confusing experience understanding what tool is best for you and if you should or shouldn’t be paying for them.

In order to run any successful digital marketing campaign, you have to know about SEO and how to find all the relevant data. SEO is a science and SEO tools are the lab, it’s where all the magic happens.

Digital marketing is my speciality and SEO is something I work with on a daily basis. It is really important for me to know which tools I can trust, which is why I spent a long time getting to know SEMrush and other alternatives.

If you’re serious about a successful digital marketing campaign or have clients that depend on you for detailed reports on their websites, then you should also know what tool is right for you.

Running a successful SEO campaign means coming up with accurate information on relevant data like keywords, backlinks, and competitor data. Any good SEO software that claims to be a complete package, the one-stop location for all your data, should be able to handle these tasks and more.

In this honest and unbiased review, I will discuss SEMrush pricing, pros and cons, and a look at some other reviews on the software. I will go into depth about what it is like to use some of its features, how they work, and what SEMrush’s competitors are doing for the same features.

What is SEMrush ?

SEMrush is an online software that shows you online visibility and offers you a number of tools in marketing analytics. It is meant to be a complete source of SEO tools that gives its users an efficient way to carry out online marketing campaigns and conduct research on the digital traffic to their websites and their competitor’s websites.

There are a couple of other paid websites that do similar tasks like Moz and Ahrefs. You could also use SEMrush alternatives free of charge– like Google Keyword Planner, Ubersuggest, and Searchmetrics.

The free alternatives won’t offer as detailed a report and will not have a complete set of tools and features that are offered on the paid services. SEMrush also has a free version of its software that offers a limited scope of its features and also limits your number of marketing projects.

You enter any domain name into SEMrush and you are instantly given a detailed report on the website. You will see a site authority score, the organic search traffic by keywords, paid search traffic, and the number of backlinks. You are also instantly given information on the history of the domain, who its competitors are, and more in-depth information on the traffic to the website. It will also give you leads on new ways to boost your online visibility.

The first thing you will probably notice when using SEMrush is all the different graphs. A site report includes a competitive positioning map and bar graphs on keyword and traffic trends. Almost every metric of data you’ll find is likely to have some kind of detailed visual graph, making it easier to understand what each number means in the mix of a mountain of data.

Actually, the first thing you might see is the mountain of data instead of the colourful graphs. Simply by plugging in a domain name, you are given a lot of information. Some would say it’s too much; I say the more the better, but it can get a little confusing at times.

Best Features

Best Keyword Planner

Out of all the different SEO platforms I’ve used, SEMrush has the best Keyword planning features. It’s a combination of so many tools built into one easy platform, saving you the trouble of hopping from website to website.

Any good keyword research is going to include a few different things. You need to know who is ranking for those keywords, the keyword’s search volume, search trends, and how difficult it is to rank for those keywords.

In SEMrush, there are a couple of different ways to go about this. You could start by using the Keyword Magic feature. Enter any broad keyword you are considering ranking for and sort through your best options. Here is an example of the keyword “lawn chair”.

The most important numbers I look for are given right off the bat. You could also sort your list by highest to lowest or lowest to highest in search volume and difficulty. To the left, you’ll also see additional keywords commonly added to your original search term in order to see more options.

After you find a keyword that fits your needs, you could get even more information on it. Here’s a screenshot of what you will see after clicking on a keyword from the list above.

After you find a keyword that fits your needs, you could get even more information on it. Here’s a screenshot of what you will see after clicking on a keyword from the list above.

After clicking on “lawn chair”, the first result in the list, this is what I got. There is plenty of information to consider before deciding on the right keyword.

This is a comprehensive data analysis SEMrush alternatives can’t compete with. You also get keyword variations, questions using the keyword, and related keywords. SEMrush makes finding the right keywords a lot easier with all this information.

Another way you might do research is by looking at the domain overview. It shows you more information than just the keywords, but is a good place to start when you want to know what keywords you already rank for and what your competition is ranking for.

After you enter your domain, you’ll see a list of competitors as well as the keywords you rank for. Click on any of your competitors and you’ll see the same domain overview you saw for your own website, as well as the keywords they rank for.

Competitor keyword research is one of the most important things I consider before starting any SEO campaign because it gives me a good idea of the ways in which they ranked on organic results and if I could use the same keywords they already generated traffic for, or if they are too competitive.

Looking at the keyword features as a whole, I think it’s obvious why I and so many other professionals depend on SEMrush for keyword research. Although it does require a bit of a learning curve, once you understand how to use its features, you’re never going to have trouble narrowing down the right keywords again.

Learning how to use the software isn’t too hard. SEMrush Academy, a free online course offered by SEMrush, could easily teach you to use these features. With a little time, you’ll be using its features like a pro.

Best Visuals and Reports

SEMrush has some of the best reports I’ve seen. They are neatly organized, use different graphs, and are easy to look at. Why is this so important?

If you work with clients who use you for SEO expertise, or if you are working on a team and you want everyone on the same page for your marketing strategy, easy to read reports are a lifesaver. I give SEMrush a gold star for their ability to put together reports instantly and make them easy to share.

You could also schedule reports to be sent your email or your client’s email, so that you are always up to date.

It’s far easier to read graphs alongside the numbers than it is to just look at the numbers, and that is what a lot of SEMrush’s competitors do. It can be easy to overlook a lot of important information when you have to read a mountain of information and the information isn’t any good if you and your clients don’t understand it.

SEMrush offers some creative ways to look at complicated information. One of my favourite

examples is the competitive positioning map.

This example is based on the results I got for lawnchairusa.com, a website I randomly selected. The map is based on Google’s top 100 search results and shows where you and your competition stand in organic traffic and keywords.

Another huge plus to these reports is that it makes you look really good to clients. The reports look professional and it shows that you are able to put together a vast amount of information in a digestible way.

Best Site Audit

The site audits on SEMrush are really useful in understanding your SEO health and areas you could improve on. Diagnosing these issues without an automated tool like this is difficult and requires a lot of time and expertise.

Understanding your site health and SEO factors is key to ranking in the top pages. These errors are often hard to catch and not immediately visible to people with limited knowledge of coding.

For example, an error I run into frequently with my clients has to do with identical meta descriptions— short summaries about what the page is before viewers click on your website from the search results.

Every page on your website should have a unique meta description in order to distinguish itself from your other pages. Google considers this an important factor in giving its users a more user-friendly experience because it makes navigating the results a lot easier.

Usually, the meta descriptions are written directly into a website’s code and is invisible to clients using simplified website building software, which is why it can be hard to catch.

Other issues the site audit sees that most people don’t see are identical H1 and title tags, https certifications, and low text to HTML ratios.

The site audits from SEMrush are the best in my opinion because they offer a lot of accurate information in a simplified way saving you a lot of time trying to find the factors harming your rank.

Aside from the coding errors invisible to most people, you get to see a general site health rank, a list of warnings and notices, and other factors like crawlability, internal linking, and site performance. Some other useful bits of information include links without anchor text, broken java and CSS files, or pages that are blocked from crawling.

Compared to other software I’ve used for this purpose, SEMrush makes accessing this information easy to understand and share with clients. Just like everything else, you could export a pdf of the report to yourself and your team. A reliable and easy to share site audit is a must especially if you have done everything else you could do to rank for organic search results. All it takes is fixing these simple issues with only a few minutes to significantly increase your rank.

Free Alternatives

Using a cheaper alternative may be the best option for you if SEMrush pricing is out of your range and if you aren’t looking to run an in-depth SEO digital marketing campaign. If you don’t need all the analytics or tools and these things are merely convenient information for you, then using an alternative is the way to go.

If you plan on running a marketing campaign that requires the host of features in the paid software, then you shouldn’t let SEMrush pricing scare you away.

Backlink issues

Some people complain that the back-link data they offer could be a little off or missing some information. This is a very difficult task for SEO tools to accomplish, so it’s not surprising that this is a complaint by a number of users.

Personally, I wouldn’t write off SEMrush on this alone, because I use other tools to supplement the diagnostics. Whatever SEO tool you do end up using, I would never recommend just using that tool alone.

All tools use different methods and data capabilities when coming up with reports, making it a good idea to do some extra research on the important factors where you think SEMrush or any other tool might be lacking.

Still, the vast array of tools and the in-depth information you get on SEMrush makes it a great “one-stop” website for most marketing needs. Depending on your project or the needs of your client, you should decide on what extra research you may need to do, if any.

high price

Compared to other paid alternatives, SEMrush pricing is not on the lower end. It is not cheap, making it unavailable to many small businesses or those with smaller projects.

Is it worth paying for the software if you are only running one project? Probably not. If you don’t have greater needs in the SEO world, then you could absolutely get by with cheaper alternatives, or even free versions of each of its features.

This is especially true if the field you are marketing in isn’t competitive, eliminating the need for detailed competitor research and weekly audits on your website.

Comparisons

Free Alternatives

Almost any free alternative isn’t going to be an all in one marketing software. Doing thorough research will require hopping around to different websites and manually recording data for your reports.

Most paid software is marketed as a one-stop location for your marketing needs, saving a lot of time and effort when you are researching and compiling reports.

Google Keyword Planner

In the free version of Google Keyword Planner, you only get rough estimates of Keyword search volume.  It could be a good starting point for research, but isn’t detailed enough to be considered thorough.

You will have a lot of trouble if the keywords you are using don’t have a lot of traffic because Google only shows rough ranges for its numbers. You won’t be able to tell the difference between 1 search per month and 90 searches per month.

Ubersuggest

Ubersuggest is another free alternative that gives more accurate information on keyword search volume. However, you only have a limited number of keyword diagnostics you could do on the free version of the software.

Like most free software, you won’t be able to do thorough research on your market and potential keywords. It will only serve as a starting point when you don’t have other tools you could use.

Searchmetrics

Searchmetrics gives you information on backlinks and site health. It is totally free and performs this task well, however, it doesn’t offer as complete a report as SEMrush.

With SEMrush, you get in-depth reports on a variety of metrics for site health and SEO ranking.  This is still a really good option if you are simply adding to your research.

If you don’t already have paid software, I highly recommend you take advantage of Searchmetrics. It’s a great option if you are looking for SEMrush alternatives free to try. You still get a lot of information which is useful in increasing your visibility.

Paid Alternatives

Ahrefs

The backlink data from Ahrefs seems to be more accurate. However, they do not offer as much as SEMrush in their smallest packages, almost forcing its users to upgrade to be more comparable to what you’re getting in SEMrush for less money.

I would choose SEMrush over Ahrefs in general because they offer much more. One benefit I see to Ahrefs that SEMrush is lacking in is user-friendliness.

Ahrefs offers less data, but doesn’t skip the important stuff. I often spend time in SEMrush sifting through the data I actually need as to where Ahrefs offers a quick and easy platform for getting the relevant information quicker.

When you are choosing between Ahrefs and SEMrush, consider how much information you need and if backlink data is more important to you.

MOZ

You have the choice between a free and paid version of Moz. You could accomplish a lot with just the free software, similar to what SEMrush has to offer. The pro software is more like SEMrush, but a little more “lacklustre” in its presentations.

As I mentioned before, the software on SEMrush gives you detailed graphs and visual representations that are really useful in digesting wide-ranging information on SEO and site links.

In Moz Pro, you get a one on one consultation with an expert who will help you achieve your SEO goals.

When it comes down to it, SEMrush may still be the best option depending on your goals with SEO and site monitoring. The above suggestions are separate stops that offer a less detailed analysis of what SEMrush does all in one place.

If your goals aren’t as serious and you don’t need all the information offered, then using a combination of the free services could be the best option for you.

Moz vs SEMrush

Usually, you’ll find that people prefer to use SEMrush vs. Moz. It is better for keyword research and easy to digest visual representations. However, some say that the backlinks on Moz is better.

The first thing you will notice on a side by side comparison, is that SEMrush offers much more detailed information. You see a number of factors affecting your SEO that at first glance might seem overwhelming, but is very useful once you become familiar with the metrics they are using.

Jumping over to Moz on a site audit, you’ll notice that it requires more user input to run a diagnosis and you get less information. Some might prefer Moz here if the information on SEMrush is too overwhelming.
But if you’re willing to put in a little time to learn, SEMrush Academy is a good resource for getting familiar with the software.

Running the same diagnosis on both programs is going to give you different results. In general, I have found that SEO professionals tend to trust the metrics on SEMrush more than they do on Moz.

In my opinion, one of the better features on Moz is the site explorer, a tool that shows you information on your websites link health and spam ranking. The spam ranking will show you how likely you are to be penalized for suspicious link behaviour on the organic search results.

Keeping in mind that search engines like google are aiming for the best user experience, possible link spam could include obviously paid links (links on unrelated forums or on websites created solely for the purpose of selling links), or web pages filled excessively with links to your site with unrelated anchor texts.

Knowing information on what can help your SEO is just as important as what might be hurting it.

In general, the data on SEMrush is more advanced, but far more useful.

Moz is cheaper

Testimonials

Some of the testimonial report that some of the information in SEMrush’s reports for backlinking is outdated or slightly inaccurate. In my opinion, backlinking is definitely not one of SEMrush’s strong suits and I agree that it could use some improvements.

If you need more in-depth information on backlinks, I would recommend software like Ahrefs.

They seem to always come up with more links in their results and have a much larger database supporting this feature.

However, I wouldn’t completely write off SEMrush’s backlinking feature because it still gives a lot of reliable information and is usually more than enough for most users doing research. You could also supplement your research with free alternatives online to see if the search missed anything.

In my opinion, although backlinks are important, they are not the end-all to any digital marketing campaign and any additional research here should only serve to generate new leads on sites to link to and where your competitors are getting links from.

In my own work, I still rely on SEMrush’s backlink audits because they still give an accurate picture of where you and your competition stand.

I don’t see too much use in chasing down the more obscure links that offer little to no site authority, and thus, little to no value to your campaign. But it’s still important to keep these reviews in mind if you are conducting more in-depth research in this area.

SEMrush Pricing

SEMrush is not the cheapest option. You could use Moz or Ahrefs as cheaper paid alternatives. However, their basic package includes what the premium packages include in Moz and Ahrefs, making it cheaper if your SEO needs are more complicated and in-depth.

The free alternatives are obviously more cost-efficient, but don’t offer the same extent of features and data that SEMrush has. The benefit of using SEMrush compared to the free alternatives is that you get all your tools in one place, making it easier to use the tools in conjunction with one another. Here is a look at SEMrush pricing and how much you should expect to spend according to your SEO needs.

FREE ACCOUNT

The free version of SEMrush gives you a taste of the paid versions with monthly limits on-site audits and projects. If you are just getting into using online software for SEO purposes and you are only in charge of a small project, this may be a good option for you.

The monthly limits won’t allow you to adapt and change your parameters, which will prevent you from changing key SEO components and tracking its progress in real-time.

Compared to other free alternatives, the free SEMrush account does more by far. It is still an all in one marketing tool, albeit a limited one, that gives you detailed information on your project. Since it’s free, you don’t have anything to lose by trying it. In my opinion, the free version should only be used if you are testing out the software to see how it will work for you.

Even if SEMrush pricing is an issue, I wouldn’t depend on it if you are serious about taking your marketing campaign to the next level. Although it still offers valuable information on traffic data and organic search results, you could accomplish a lot more by simply switching to the pro account— the cheapest paid version of SEMrush.

You can set up 1 Project, with the ability to set up each project tool once.
